How do I choose whether a Leadership Development Day or LDDplus is going to be most useful for me?

Will it cost me or my organisation any money for me to attend?

No - these workshops are completely free to participants apart from travel costs to the venue (these are all in city centre locations). We may be able to provide some support for travel costs if you are self-employed or work for a small organisation and can demonstrate a clear financial need.

Can anyone attend?

No, our brief is to support the leadership development needs of three under-represented groups in the cultural sector.  This exciting and challenging opportunity involves a competitive, brief application process and has a clear set of priorities which are set out here.

I don't quite fit the criteria - can I still apply?

Yes. But you have to make a good case as to why you would benefit most from this programme and there is space on the Application Form for you to do this.

Who is running the programme?

The Leadership Development Days and LDDplus are being delivered by People Create Limited in association with a wide range of extremely experienced consultants and facilitators. We are specialists in leadership development in the corporate and cultural sectors.

What will I get out of this?

Our two workshops are designed to help participants appreciate what inspirational and authentic leadership looks like and move them on a personal development journey. The intention is to have fun, work hard and start building and enhancing real leadership capacity and networks in the cultural sector.

Can I change my application after it has been submitted?

Once your application has been submitted it cannot be changed so please check the date, location etc and make sure you are happy with your application before submitting. As an improvement this year, applicants can save and return to their draft applications before submitting. If you do need to change a date etc then you will need to contact Emma who will help you with this.

What time commitment do you expect?

We will have just one face-to-face day in each workshop but we ask you to commit about four hours of pre-work in the two to three weeks prior to your Leadership Development Day or LDDplus day. This may be followed by your own development tasks afterwards.

I work for myself. Can you compensate for loss of earnings if I attend?

Both the Leadership Development Days and LDDplus are significant opportunities for self-development and provided FREE to successful applicants. Unfortunately we cannot cover any possible loss of earnings for self-employed people attending but we may be able to provide some support for reasonable travel costs if you can demonstrate a clear financial need.

Can I apply by post or phone?

Yes, although our preference is for you to apply on-line. If you have difficulty working on-line then you can download a Word application form which can then be sent to us by post or you can apply by phone by contacting Emma in the first instance.

Do I have to attend a Leadership Development Day or LDDplus in my region?

No. You can apply for any Leadership Development Day or LDDplus that is convenient to you.

How many people will be on each Leadership Development Day or LDDplus?

There will be a maximum of 22 people on each day.

Can more than one person from an organisation take part?

Yes, subject to the same eligibility criteria mentioned earlier.

Are you using any BSL signing interpreters and palantypists?

Yes, BSL interpreters and palantypists can be provided if required. You just need to let us know your requirements in your application and we will discuss this with you. If you have a Personal Assistant, they are more than welcome to attend with you if this helps you.
