Who are the Leadership Development Days and LDDplus for?

The Leadership Development Days and LDDplus are designed to support and promote an ethos of authentic leadership in the cultural and creative industries. Whilst focusing on supporting individuals from within the arts, heritage, cultural and creative industries sectors, our target audience also includes individuals currently working in other transferable or linked professions who may be considering a career in the cultural and creative industries.

Both the Leadership Development Days and LDDplus are primarily intended to support the development needs of the following priority groups:

  • people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds
  • disabled people or those who work in organisations that focus on the potential of disabled people
  • people who are cultural entrepreneurs – working as micro-enterprises of between 1 and 5 employees.

People outside these priority groups will be considered where spaces are available.

What about the Leadership Development Days specifically?

This day will be of most benefit for "emerging leaders“ who want to understand more about leadership styles, their own responses and preferences to leadership issues and who might appreciate a development framework. Broadly speaking, these will be individuals who have had at least 5 years' work experience, either in employment, self-employed or freelance and will be at the cusp of significant progression in their career.

What about LDDplus specifically?

This day will be of most benefit for "established or growing leaders“ who recognise a need to broaden their approach to leadership and are interested in values-led leadership, authenticity and bravery in leading change. Broadly speaking, these will be individuals who have had at least 8 years' work experience, are currently in middle or senior roles of leadership or management or with line-management responsibility. They might be running their own established enterprise or working as part of a much larger organisation and are looking for tools, tips and behaviours in order to make big change happen.

"The Hero's Journey was excellent. A fantastic tool to give that extra clarity and focussed approach to work based tasks or personal goals."
